A report by a Constable on a crime, or any a ter
which is the subject of enqulry should outline briefly the
circumstancesof the case, and include such matters which
are not the subject of evidence.
A report should not embody the statement of any
person interviewed,such a statementshould be attached to
the report, signed and witnessed in the usual canner.
The evidencewhich the Constablemaking the report
is ab1e to give, should be attachedto the report as a
statement,and not embodied in the report.
In other words copies of all state ents taken
should be attached to the report and not embodied in it.
The statement should be in the actual words used
by the witness. .
A report should be set out in sequence or in other
words chronologicalexactitudeshould be obsarved - anflthe
sanieapplies to the statements.
