X Arthur DUTTONDear Maureen,Thank you for your nice reply I am alwaysdelighted when people like yourself expressappreciation, it makes it all worthwhile. Just togive you a little more information onSuperintendent Dutton, he married twice, firstlyin April 1885, Susannah Ovens, she obviously diedand he remarried Isabella Reid in April 1896,Superintendent Dutton's father was named Robert sogiven that Joseph and Arthur's father was namedPeter they if connected at all can only be thenephews of Superintendent Dutton. I have alsochecked the Police Marriage Register for any otherDutton with a father named Peter but none furtherare given, but that is to say that they could notbe connected in some other manner, I will have toleave it up to you to do a little more research.I would not look on Joseph's discipline record toharshly, believe me, for this period in time andhaving inputted all 15000 police officer recordsthere are not many officers who do not have sometype of drink related offence recorded againstthem.Right to move on to Arthur, I would think that theArthur I have is more than likely the brother ofJoseph as the Marriage Register gives Arthurs wifeas Rose Chesters, I am also assuming that Josephswife Sarah and Arthurs wife Rose were sisters, Ihave added this information to their respectiveentries in the database, so if you do confirm thiswould you let me know. With regard to paymentthere is no additional charge for Arthur'sinformation.Collar Number/Rank.
