X PatronGerald Cavendish GrosvenorDuke of Westminster, KG, CB, OBE, TD, DL Your ref: JT68/2012Hello again Ann,I truly wish I had a copy of that photograph whata wonderful thing to have all those family membersserving in the police and in uniform. I have beendoing a little digging in the archives today andthe following is what I can send you.(1) Francis and Sophia Wedding date.(2) The 1881 Census return for Francis and Sophia(2 pages). This shows their siblings as(3) Alfred's christening date.(4) Colin's christening date.(5) Colin's marriage information.(6) Esther's christening date.(7) Fred's christening date.(8) Isaac's christening date.(9) James's christening date.(10) John's christening date.(11) Lucy's christening date.(12) Sarah Ellen's christening date.(13) William's christening date. This is of course is only ten of the children soif you have the name of the eleventh I can checkfor that before sending you the report.(14) Alfred's Police service record, not a greatdeal of information in this but there is aspecific reason for this.(15) Colin's Police service records.(16) Fred's Police service record includingmarriage information(17) Isaac's Police service record includingmarriage information.(18) Samuel's Police service record includingmarriage information. With regard to Samuel's information I am insomewhat of a dilemma. He did not serve for longtherefore not a great deal of information isrecorded, however we do have the information whyhe left the force and this may not fit yourperception of him. Before I release theinformation I need to know if you can confirm hisapproximate year of birth and if he is stillliving. I appreciate that he may be nearly 100 nowbut if he has died I require his year of death. Ihope you will appreciate that I have to ask forthis as it would be wrong to disclose informationon Samuel if he is still alive. This also mayimpact on any of Samuel's siblings that may stillbe around, if of course you make them aware ofsuch, so please consider do you really want thisinformation. As you can see Ann there is quite a bit ofinformation to give you and it will take someconsiderable time to compile the report whichbrings me around to the cost. Normally it is £10per report per officer however it would be veryunfair to expect you to pay this so if you wouldconsider a total cost of £25, and if you agree tothe cost could you kindly indicate such in yourreply. We work on a trust basis and details on howto pay will be contained within your report, whichhopefully will be with you over the next week viaemail.Best wishes.Jim Talbot,Trustee and Researcher for theMuseum of Policing in Cheshire,Warrington Police Station, Arpley Street,Warrington.
