X Dear Mr. Roberts,A please or a thank you would have been nice, however. The Cheshire Constabulary Records run ingreat detail between 1857 and 1913, after thisthey are very poor. There are six Alfred Williamsin the records, two are Sgt's, but sadly not oneof the records holds a date or place of birth, also other information is limited. They are Sgt211 Alfred Williams joined 10/04/1920 and retiredon Pension 09/04/1950. He died 31/05/1965.He wasserving on retirement in Altrincham, he hadcompleted 30 years service and was aged 55 years9 months. His annual pay on retirement was £485.His annual pension was £323. 6s. 8d. Sgt 838Alfred Williams 01/04/1927and retired on pension10/10/1953, he in fact was an original ChesterCity Officer and never served at any otherlocation in Cheshire. So I would guess that Sgt221 is your man. And sadly this is all I have togive you. If by some chance Sgt 211 is your man Iwould be grateful for some of his personalinformation likes of dob etc. I also have amarriage record of an Alfred William aged 25, (butits does not show his collar number so I dont knowif he is yours) it would be about right i. e.being born circa 1895, marrying Florence MaudHelen Hayward. If you can confirm that this fitsin with your research I will supply the details.Best wishes Jim Talbot.
