X John BARRONHello David,So far it's been a so and so of a year, had aheart attack in February, so just getting overthat, the weather is rubbish, but enough moans. Ihave telephoned Kate this morning all veryconfusing she was not there but in a meeting, someone named Joe answered explained that Kate isnot in charge of the records now she has giventhem out to someone else to do, in her defence shehas probably made arrangements for a smooth changeover but whoever is now dealing probably has notgot a clue. In the end after getting nowhere veryfast I have emailed several people in MerseysidePolice saying it's just not good enough thatpeople are kept waiting for information becausethe left hand does not know what the right hand isdoing. So I may have burnt some bridges thismorning, we will have to wait and see.I have looked again at the report I sent you inNovember 2008 and for some reason the last coupleof pages have not saved and only goes up to whereI suggest you visit www.picturecheshire.ork.uk soif we happen to go over old ground forgive me Ihave dealt with many enquiries since November anddon't remember details in depth.I also note that where I mention Kate McNichol Isaid that John served with Liverpool Borough andsuggested circa 1868, which of course just cannotbe correct because he was serving in Cheshire in1868, so his service in Liverpool must havestarted circa 1848, believe me you don't want tohear what I have called myself. Taking this 1848,I looked at the 1851 Census for Liverpool(attached with the 1861census) the time would beright for his Liverpool service, there are somecoincidences, is it possible that by 1861 Hellenhas died and John has moved to Cheshire andremarried Mary?, Just something to think about. Iwill get this off to you and will have to wait andsee if anyone contact from Merseyside. Speak laterJim.
